Led the operations of the Business and Workforce Development Center including industrial/organizational consulting, the Missouri One Start Customized Training Program, customized contract training and workforce solutions, Career and Apprenticeship training programs, WIOA Programs in partnership with the Local Office of Job Training, Workforce Development Grants, and the institutional and regional WorkKeys/NCRC/CWRC initiative. Established annual Manufacturing Day/Maker career event for the community. Led Gallup Strength based leadership initiative to enhance employee engagement utilizing the Strengths-Finder Assessment. Developed innovative new workforce development programs that generated significant increases in student enrollment that surpassed projections. Consistently generated revenue that exceeded goals.
Member of Missouri Certified WorkReady Community Leadership Team that completed the ACT Certified WorkReady Community State Leadership Academy and assisted in the development of a successful state application for Missouri. Member of state task force to champion the implementation of the WorkKeys National Career Readiness Certificate in Missouri. Chair of Jefferson County Certified WorkReady Community Leadership Council. Jefferson County is one of the largest counties in Missouri to obtain Certified WorkReady Community Designations (Level 3 certification) as certified by the Missouri Department of Economic Development and the Missouri Workforce Investment Board. Led two large workforce development projects that received the Governor’s Award for Training Innovation.
Developed new accelerated workforce training programs including Certified Nurse Assistant, Certified Medication Technician/Insulin, Medical Assistant, Manufacturing Technician, Certified Logistics Technician, Industrial Safety/ OSHA Training Center, Construction Trades Contractor Professional Development, Apprenticeship programs and
Pre-Apprenticeship (CAMO) Construction And Mechanical Occupations Academy. Developed new online workforce training programs in partnership with ed2go, AMA, ProTrain, Career Step, MSSC and ToolingU to create hybrid programs. Designed Wonder Women career development workshop series to empower survivors of domestic violence.
Successfully led sales, marketing, networking, and outreach for the college to area businesses to secure customized training contracts. Successfully developed innovative customized training solutions for businesses including creating over 100 customized training/assessment-based workshops in the areas of leadership, management, team building, customer service, employee engagement and productivity, change management, communication, conflict resolution, quality systems, and organizational effectiveness. WorkKeys Authorized Job Profiler that has successfully produced 70+ job profiles that has optimized talent recruitment and development. Successful provided customized training solutions for over 40 companies in the greater St. Louis region.
Director of Testing/Academic Support Centers-Jefferson College (1996-2006)
Lead the operations of Learning/Assessment Centers including developmental education, assessment services, and academic support services. Developed and expanded the Professional Certification Testing Center which provides certification testing services for individuals and businesses. Supervised a dedicated team of employees who consistently achieved outstanding benchmarks with regard to productivity and service quality.
Chair of Student Outcomes Committee that developed and advanced institutional assessment plan, established Institutional Excellence Assessment Award, and implemented placement/computer-based testing. Championed institutional WorkKeys initiative which instituted employer advisory board/faculty program benchmarks, institutional assessment, and NCRC issuance. Jefferson College was one of the first institutions in the Midwest to use WorkKeys for assessing general education outcomes. Guided the assessment process resulting in improved student learning. The WorkKeys assessment initiative has been cited as a best practice in multiple institutional accreditation reviews.
Contributed to the ACT WorkKeys Curriculum Profile and Alignment Report for Computer Integrated Manufacturing in partnership with ACT and the National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS) designed to enhance NIMS credential pass rates utilizing WorkKeys assessments and WorkKeys curriculum software. A presentation, based on the report, was made at the annual Missouri Community College Association conference.
Academic Support Services/Adult Education
Supervised and developed academic support services for all campus locations including disability support services, peer/professional tutoring, and supplemental instruction. Successfully secured grant funds to create the Project SUCCESS (Students Utilizing Career Counseling and Educational Support Services) program that provides academic support services for first generation/low-income students, and or students with disabilities. Director of Adult Education/Literacy program that received Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Star Program with Distinction designation for quality. Developed innovative instructional strategies designed to improve student success.
Adjunct Faculty/Advisor- Jefferson College
Developed course curriculum and taught courses in the following areas: General Psychology, Child Development, Adolescent Psychology, Human Development. College Success and Career Guidance. Utilized innovative and creative instructional strategies to create a stimulating learning environment for students. Instructor/course evaluations were outstanding with regard to instructional quality. Created and implemented service-learning model in adolescent psychology course. Served as academic advisor providing career guidance and enrollment services for students.
